No joke, the DEWALT FlexVolt 60V 2.5 Gallon Cordless Air Compressor performs as if it was a corded air compressor of similar size but offers all of the convenience and portability of cordless.  If you like to use small and lightweight pneumatic tools, this air compressor allows you to cut the power cord but keep the hose.  Runtime with the included FlexVolt 6.0Ah battery (really a 60-volt 2.0 Ah battery) was excellent and we believe it will run a full workday for many users on a single battery charge.  There is a gauge that lets you know the pressure in the tank next to, what DEWALT calls, a OneTurn Regulator that allows you to choose the PSI output with a dial.  Just like many new DEWALT tools, this air compressor is made in the USA with global materials. We used this compressor with 18 and 16 gauge nails testing the 2.5 gallon air tank to see how many nails we could shoot without the compressor going into recovery mode.  We were able to shoot fifteen 18 gauge and ten 16 gauge nails before the compressor tank dipped below the 100 psi mark triggering the pump to turn on and return the tank to 135 PSI. While you can use this air compressor for household use, including topping of automotive tires with air and filling up other items, the performance will still be limited by the size of the tank and the 1.2 scfm output.  This compressor will be happy to live and run every day on the jobsite or sit in the garage or trailer as a backup unit.  Having the option to cut the cord or have a compressor in a remote area is awesome and DEWALT designed this compressor to perform as if it was corded!
