Mabinogion: the 1st Branch explained, a Pagan retelling of myths and legends from ancient Britain
in this video, I discuss the first half of the first branch of the Mabinogi. a collection of stories form pre-saxon britain. One of my favourite myths, about a boy becoming a man who brings order to the fey realm, and returns wiser and fairer to rule amongst men once more. the tales were once oral traditions told by Bards in great halls. the stories of gods and heroes. however, by the time Christian monks came to writing them down, much of the content and context was changed to suit Christian sensibilities. in this video, I attempt to discuss the meaning behind the stories so we can enjoy them in a way that was perhaps closer to the original as possible. artwork credit below where possible, if you are not credited it is because i couldn't find the original source! please message me with your details so i can amend.
