Etagen / Floors: 6 (K, E, 1-4) Gefilmt am / Recorded on 25. 8. 2022 Von diesen Aufzügen gibt es schon mehrere Videos, dieses ist aber vermutlich das letzte, da das Gebäude irgendwann dieses Jahr abgerissen werden soll. Karstadt wurde schon 2020 geschlossen, danach sind in einen Teil des Gebäudes zahlreiche kleine Mainzer Geschäfte und Start-ups eingezogen. Anfangs haben die sich auf mehrere Etagen verteilt; zum Zeitpunkt des Filmens waren aber nur noch im Erdgeschoss welche, so daß die Aufzüge von Kunden eigentlich gar nicht mehr benutzt werden durften. Der linke war wohl auch schon abgeschaltet, der rechte mit einer (zum Glück beweglichen) Barriere abgesperrt. Ursprünglich sollte der 31.12.2022 der letzte Verkaufstag sein, laut Google kann man dort aber offenbar immer noch einkaufen. There are already several videos of these elevators, but this one is probably the last one since the building is planned to be demolished this year. Karstadt had already closed in 2020; after that, lots of small local stores and start ups have moved into a part of the building. At first they were located on several floors, but at the time of filming there were only a few of them left on ground floor so that customers actually were not allowed anymore to use the elevators. The left one was possibly already taken out of service while there was a (luckily moveable) barrier in front of the right one. Actually the 31/12/2022 was planned to be the last sales day, but according to Google it seems still to be possible to go shopping there.
