It was a tensed political period in the history of Nigeria as Otunba Gani Adams was glaringly supporting President Jonathan and even went to the extent of organizing a ‘Jega must go’ protest in Lagos, which led to the destruction of public utilities and campaign bill boards on March 15, 2015 few days to the Presidential election. It was at this junction, Chief Arogundade and few other strong lieutenants left the old OPC to start the New Era brand and since then, they have been waxing stronger. Arogundade and Gani Adams are offspring of late Frederick Faseun’s OPC as Arogundade famously called SADDAM was the Chief Security Commandant of the militia Group.
