A capital almost entirely rebuilt after World War II, today dominated by Soviet architecture, wide boulevards, history, and even castles and symbols of the former USSR! In this episode we explore some of the city's most iconic sites: 📍 Victory Square, the heart of Soviet memory 📍 The massive Palace of the Republic 📍 The futuristic National Library of Belarus 📍 The museum dedicated to sculptor Azgur, home to monumental Soviet-era statues 📍 Soviet mosaics scattered across the city 📍 The striking Hill of Glory, a memorial to the 1944 liberation of Belarus Minsk is also the political center of the country led by Alexander Lukashenko, often called "the last dictatorship in Europe." But what does it really mean to visit this city today? 🎥 In this documentary we try to show Belarus beyond the stereotypes, looking at everyday life, monuments, contradictions, and the atmosphere of a capital that feels suspended between a Soviet past and an uncertain present. 🚧 This is the second episode of our journey through Belarus. In the next video we'll enter the Belarusian side of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, one of the least-known and most heavily contaminated areas from the 1986 nuclear disaster. ✍️ Had you ever seen Minsk like this? 🔔 Subscribe to the channel so you don't miss the next episode. 👉 For more on our full trip through Belarus, read the complete article on our blog: https://www.enontheroad.com/viaggio-i... 👇 VIDEO CHAPTERS 👇 00:00 INTRO 01:33 Action Plan 02:30 Castles of Belarus 07:25 Heading to Minsk 08:47 Minsk City Center 24:10 Minsk Outskirts
