From Model to Fabrication with ArchiFrame
English translation: ArchiFrame makes it possible to automate the detailed design of timber structures directly from the BIM project’s 3D model for import into fully automated cutting (sawing) machines. This streamlines the design process especially for lightweight timber elements and cross-laminated timber (CLT) elements, as well as timber structures intended for on-site construction. The entire element can be detailed in ArchiFrame, including cladding. In addition to producing data for cutting machines, ArchiFrame also generates element drawings with bills of materials, the element’s weight, balance point, and nail markings. Small grooves can be milled into the timber components so you can easily see where space has been made for a joint, without having to measure from a drawing. In the webinar, you will see examples of timber buildings with construction drawings generated by ArchiFrame, as well as a live demo of what the ArchiFrame workflow looks like. In addition to the webinar host, Thomas Graabæk from GRAPHISOFT Center Denmark, Petteri Heiskari from ArchiFrame will join to demonstrate how the architect’s BIM model is converted into detailed cutting lists. For that reason, this webinar will be held in English.
