DIY Embroidered Jacket x Annika Victoria Collab Challenge!

I just hang up side down. -ya.. hello. hey shmoxxddd.. hey Bryan -helloooooo.. hows it going? what are we doing here? -Today.. its going to be DIY vs DIY -Oh cool -I just decided on the.. -You just decided on the name..thats cool. I'll just roll with it:) We've decided on an image.. I found an image of a peony... Peony -Peony.. -Peony.. its a peony.. its just a really punny flower. just punny.. -So.. were both going to try and embroider a peony and were both going to try it on some Denim. I am a biginner at embroidery I would say.. and I would say you are a little bit better. -I'm definitely no... no no expert. -You're like a level above at least. Okay so were going to do the same project, but when we both finish were are going to get back on Skype, were going to compare them, see how the other did, and were also going to record the process that we both used to do our own versions. -ya! that sounds perfect. -And were going to record that to show you guys so you can do it for your self!:) Alright! So lets get started! -GOOD LUCK We'll see you in a bit -GOOD LUCK bye -bye So I just have the reference picture here.. its in the chat with Annika.. Perfect! I want to put that peony on my jean jacket. I think it would look really cool on my sleeve. I just took this marker.. the marker comes out with water so I just started drawing it on:) Its not perfect, I changed some stuff about the flower. I made the flower and petals bigger, the stem longer, and just made it to fit the jacket how I wanted. ( also I wanted it to go over the seam like it is here:) I also have these clamps. They hold the hoop in place. Its not entirely necessary to have theses clamps.. I just use them so it stays in one place as I'm filming. I picked out theses colors for the flower and im going to start with the outline with this dark maroon. Just tie a knot in it, and I'm ready to go. I have a video where I go over more or less the basics of doing a patch: https://bit.ly/2G7EseV I should probably update it.. its a bit old. but.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ yah. After I got the outline done, I wanted to do all the green with a chain stitch. Basically you just make a normal stitch, but when you come back up you come up through your back stitch. I made a video where I go more in depth how to do the chain stitch here: https://bit.ly/2pBLMrN I kept on having to readjust the hoop cause it was bigger than the design. Also when I couldn't pull it through I used pliers. ( I used them a lot on the seam:) that helped The next stitch I did was the long short stitch. I would make long stitches [spaced out] then come back through and fill the spaces with a short stitch... and that seemed to work. I was trying to get a good fade when I used the red. Once I got done feeling in the empty space with the red I would come back through and put a red stitch that went from the red area and went up to like the middle of the pink. I did the same thing with the maroon [on the outlines] just to bring the fade up a little more. Now on to the chain stitch. the dark green and the light green feel was a chain stitch. When doing the leaf I would start on the outside of the leaf and do some chain stitches in and end in the middle [of the leaf] where the crease would be. then I did that on the other side. Andddd done.. let's check the inside to make sure its not too hornedou.... a;sldfjawopeingfas;d it's not too bad.. hopefully I just don't snag it when I put my arm through the sleeve..
