JConcepts 1997 Ford F-150 Monster Truck Body
For the 10th generation of the Ford F-150, engineering started as far back as 1991 with the project code named PN-96. The first re-design since 1980, Ford concentrated on smoother, softer design, perhaps looking into the future when trucks would make their way into more and more homes as a family vehicle. The new generation span lasted from 1997 to 2004 only undergoing minor changes in aesthetics and inside basics to accommodate extended and future crew cab models. The new Ford was going places as sales surged and during this platform span celebrated 100 years of trucks. On the monster truck scene, big name teams were out promoting the new 1997 and celebrating with Ford with a massive array of paint schemes and sponsorship packages. Independent teams also rushed to the new styling, outfitting individual identities into the luscious lines of the new racer. The best never rests, and with fiberglass versions available, it was quick to have a light-weight alternative on a racing chassis and using bolt-on options such as cab spoilers, visors, cab extenders, the 1997 Ford was a versatile champion in the scale world of monster trucks. On the RC scene, very few options exist to bring 1997 to the latest builds and chassis on the market, until now. JConcepts together with Ford licensing has produced the 10th generation truck to fill the void in the market, and above all, allow racers to consistently build, detail, and tune their RC vehicles into their personal favorites. The new shell starts with a 13” wheelbase design which aligns with the latest LMT, and long wheelbase RC monster trucks on the market. In today’s racing, the 13” wheelbase remains one of the most popular and the 1997 drops down on the chassis with great proportions. A single cab design was built to emulate the most famous 1:1 truck featuring the gen 10 softer body lines, rounded front-end and extended front chin style bumper. Large wheel wells are incorporated into this body to clear the large monster truck tires on the market while still providing the stock Ford look. The side windows are large, recessed and help the product sit with a racing stance while maximum scale visibility can be seen out of the front windshield. The high-speed nose of the body rounds into perfect positioning for the Ford headlights, grille, and lower venting areas. JConcepts provides a decal sheet that the user can cut and trim to choose between the factory Ford look or black-out decals to cover front-end facia. The drop bed gives a wide range of area for the user to mount the body and the long bed resembles the 8-foot-long bed used on a Ford work truck. Included in each package, a cab spoiler and visor which can be cut, trimmed, and mounted to the finished product. The items can be either attached with double sided tape or light-weight hardware (not included) for best durability. The JConcepts team builds, tests, and travels the world to support the brand and gather valuable driver feedback in search of the best appearing and performance items on the market. The product is built, formed, and printed in the U.S.A. and always backed by JConcepts customer service, supported, and developed by professionals with style and authenticity.
