Mass-Market Paperbacks Are Going Away

In this video, I discuss the disappearance of mass-market paperback books. These small books are one of my favorite formats to read, especially for science fiction and fantasy. I have some of my favorite memories from reading stories like A Song of Ice and Fire and The Stormlight Archive in these mass-market editions. They are not completely gone yet, but the end is soon. To me, that feels significant because this was a format that allowed authors to reach millions of readers. A print format that made books affordable, portable, and accessible. There’s something about these small, worn books that feels personal, comfortable, and familiar, and I am going to miss them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello!
