We camped at the Jekyll Island Campground, explored 20+ miles of biking trails, and discovered shocking stories! We camped among driftwood ghosts on a beach shaped by centuries of weathering and erosion, a once-private retreat for America's wealthiest families. This island, steeped in history and formerly home to the likes of the Rockefeller family and Vanderbilt family, is now open for everyone to explore. Experience the natural beauty and luxury that defines this unique United States destination. But beneath beauty and the glamour lies a dark story that involves a slave trade 50 years after it was outlawed. The full story is revealed in the video! 🌊 WHAT WE EXPERIENCED: • RV Camping: Stayed at the historic Jekyll Island Campground (dating back to the 1950s) • Biking Adventures: Nearly biked the entire island on their extensive 20+ mile trail system • Driftwood Beach: Visited this haunting coastline formed by centuries of erosion • Historical Discovery: Uncovered the island's complex past from enslaved labor to Gilded Age luxury 🏛️ HIDDEN HISTORY REVEALS: • The slave ship Wanderer (1858) that brought 400+ enslaved people here.
