In a regular tank company after 1943, a platoon had four tanks, and a company had three platoons, totaling 12 tanks. The Sturmtiger companies, however, were special companies within the Panzer corps from the very beginning, with only four tanks per company. This special case was meant (Sturmtiger tank company becomes Sturmtiger artillery battery), but it sounds as if regular tank companies were meant—and that is, of course, misleading. Sorry!
