Fundraising for Nottingham Skaters in 1980 including Torvill & Dean! Lovely Nostalgia & Early Photos

This was a piece on East Midlands Today, such a wonderful bit of nostalgia with an interview backstage last night with Chris & Jayne about this very kind man, God bless him! Includes some great old photos. Incidentally Mark Pepperday was British Men's Champion at the time. How lovely the Showbiz and Sporting community were in Nottingham to fundraise for up and coming young talent! 👏🥰💜 After that 1979-80 season, when Torvill & Dean did so well internationally and at the Lake Placid Olympics, they quit their jobs to train full time and received a grant from Nottingham Council to take them up to 1984. Another great decision by Nottingham! 👏💜🥰🙏
