For a school such as ours where singing and music are an important part of school life, the thought of not being able to sing at Christmas was unthinkable. Therefore, using a large covered area we have temporarily erected in our school playground, we turned this space into a performance space complete with professional stage lighting and sound. We chose two Christmas musicals to perform and rehearsed the songs and words with the children in class groups in the weeks leading up to the performance, with us waiting until the day when we could be outdoors in our performance space, before we could fully sing out and put all of the individual class performances together. We then filmed our musicals with the help of a professional film-maker and these are the results (please see our younger children in action in their musical: 'A Bundle Of Joy' also on this channel).
