Air New Zealand NZ421 : Flying from Auckland to Wellington

21st December 2020 I was fortunate to fly solo for the first time. And what better way than on a brand new aircraft. I'm flying to Wellington aboard Air New Zealand on their 1 year old Airbus A321neo, ZK-NNE. I travelled a long distance via buses and trains to the Domestic Terminal of Auckland Airport. Then checking in and getting my boarding passes for both my onward and return flight (as I was returning on the last flight). I proceeded to go through security screening and explored the departures area. My plane then arrived at Gate 30 (which was the same gate as my first recorded flight, NZ671, on my main channel). I then grabbed a small bite for breakfast albeit a little overpriced and then boarding commenced. I settled in Seat 23F and like before, I was pleasantly surprised to see my name on the IFE screen. I was a little bit annoyed about the noisy kid sitting in front of me so I apologise about that distraction. The sound of the engines were very quiet and the cabin was very modern. I felt lucky that Air NZ decided to operate these aircraft on domestic routes as well as international ones. Free Wi-Fi was also available onboard which I was impressed by. Soon after, we pushed back from the gate and taxied towards the runway before taking off towards Wellington. I got corn chips and water as my refreshments while I browsed the IFE. There was a lot of content but very little time to watch or listen. There were no headphones provided either. After a short flight, we eventually touched down in Wellington before we taxied and parked at Gate 25 which was part of the international side of the terminal. It was good to be back in Wellington Airport (the last time being over a decade ago) but I had very little time to reminisce as I had a city to explore.
