Celtic Weave Walking Stick from Straight Stock
Hello! I was commissioned to carve another Celtic Weave Walking Stick for a client recently and wanted to make it out of a dark wood. However I didn't have any sticks ready so I made a trip to my lumber supplier and picked up a beautiful piece of 8/4 Butternut. Dressed an edge, ripped it on the table saw and rounded it down to a straight piece to start carving. Made sure to take more time laying out perfect lines for the weave and I think this stick came out great. Watco Teak oil and finishing wax to bring out the deep color and grain pattern. Hope you enjoy this build and see you at the next carving!
