Oxalic acid treated and a chat

As some of my hives are broodless now is the perfect time to treat for varroa mites, I dont talk about Varroa much as I am no expert but I understand that they are a very real problem, ill admit that I don’t do Varroa washes so no I don’t know my count before or after treatment so essentially no I don’t know if my treatment has worked but I am hoping it does, you get to see dead varroa mites on the bottom board. So my varroa treatment First off when you split you render a colony broodless at some point , this is good as varroa beed brood to multiply, so no brood = varroa cant multiply, treat with oxalic acid at this time and you can potentially kill a lot of the mites that are on the bees . Oxalic vaporization won’tkill mites under capped brood So those are my 2 main methods of varroa control , treat every 5 days for a month and that should really help, don’t forget to wear your PPE a face mask with organic filters to protect your lungs
