Planewave CDK12.5 Arrival

The arrival of the PlaneWave CDK 12.5" Carbon Fiber OTA marks a massive shift for the SmarttyPants rig:) In this video, I'm unboxing the 48.5 lb (22.0 kg) optical tube assembly and taking a first look at the hardware that will serve as the foundation for my new high-resolution, unguided imaging setup. This isn't just about the glass; it's about the ecosystem. I'll be pairing this CDK with a 10Micron GM2000 HPS II Combi to leverage absolute encoders and high-density sky models to eliminate traditional autoguiding from the workflow.
