[Memorial Day] Let's observe a moment of silence at noon! I prayed for the war dead and for world peace at the Peace Memorial Park while watching the summer solstice sunrise! This time, I observed a moment of silence at the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman City while watching the sunrise. This is because June 23rd, Memorial Day, marks the day when organized fighting in the Battle of Okinawa is considered to have ended. It is a public holiday in Okinawa Prefecture and a special day to commemorate the war dead and pray for world peace! Since I couldn't go to Itoman on Memorial Day itself, I observed a moment of silence alone on the morning of the summer solstice, June 21st, while watching the sunrise. Let's all observe a moment of silence at noon. *This video was filmed with respect for Okinawa's nature and culture. We ask for your cooperation in taking your trash with you, respecting restricted areas, and observing proper etiquette at sacred sites and places of worship.
