JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - The Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, revealed several results of discussions presented to President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (June 9, 2026). Luhut explained that the DEN had conducted an independent survey regarding the implementation of the MBG program. The survey was independently funded to assess the economic impacts emerging around the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). "The survey results show that 86.9 percent of SPPGs currently have at least small suppliers or MSMEs located nearby. On average, each SPPG partners with three MSMEs," said DEN member Septian Hario Seto. He assessed that these findings indicate the emergence of a new economic ecosystem around the implementation of the MBG program. In addition to discussing the MBG, Luhut also highlighted the government's steps in integrating national data through an AI-based system. Meanwhile, former Indonesian Minister of Finance, Chatib Basri, said the discussion with the President also highlighted national macroeconomic developments. According to Chatib, one of the issues of concern is the potential for price increases due to the weakening rupiah exchange rate, which could impact lower-middle class communities. "We discussed macroeconomic developments related to the current situation. The important issue is the potential risk of price increases due to the weakening rupiah and its impact on the lower-middle class," Chatib said. Luhut further stated that the MBG program is good, and its governance will be improved. "Let's not fight anymore," Luhut said, closing the press conference.
