Getting started with CPT: Cone Penetration Testing
CPT is a soil investigation technique to assess the soil behaviour, with a variety of geotechnical applications. In this video, we'll show you all the equipment to get started. First is an electrical CPT system, which consists of the following components: A cone with measurement sensors Rods to push the cone deeper into the ground Transmission system, with wires or cables to transmit data from your cone to the data acquisition system on the surface A data acquisition system to collect the data Secondly, the force to push into the ground. For this, you'll need a pusher. And lastly, a carrier for your pusher, both for transportation and to act as a reaction force.
