Page 17 - The Oathbreaker | Epic Folk Ballad

Arc I – The Fall of the Crown Page 17 – The Oathbreaker [Verse I] Raise your cups and curse his name, The knight who stained the royal flame. He drew his steel where none should dare, And left a kingdom stripped and bare. They carved one word in stone that day, To shame the man who turned away. No title grand, no victor's crown Just one black name in every town. [Chorus] Oathbreaker! Hear the taverns cry. The man who made a king to die. His honor sold, his faith undone An oath once sworn, forever gone. --- [Verse II] But I recall the early years, A noble king, beloved and revered. The harvests blessed, the banners high, A realm at peace beneath clear skies. Then whispers crept through castle halls, The trusted vanished from their walls. Each month another faithful friend, Would leave the court... and meet their end. [Chorus] Oathbreaker! Hear the taverns cry. The man who made a king to die. His honor sold, his faith undone An oath once sworn, forever gone. --- [Verse III] The torches lit the crimson night, "Burn every home that hides our blight!" The children wept, the old men prayed, While loyal soldiers looked away. He knelt before the shattered throne, His trembling hand upon his own. "My king... I swore my life to thee. But not to murder those I keep." The steel rang once. The hall fell still. A crown rolled silent down the hill. --- [Bridge] Tell me... What is an oath when justice dies? What is a crown built upon lies? If duty chains the righteous hand, Then mercy must make one last stand. --- [Final Chorus] Oathbreaker! Let the tankards rise. The man who dared to pay the price. He broke one vow to save us all So kingdoms great would never fall. Oathbreaker! Sing his name tonight. The knight who chose what still was right. Some vows are broken to defend The ones worth keeping in the end. #FantasyMusic #BardSongs #FantasyBallad #EpicMusic #StorySongs #Knight #fantasystory #thedeadbardsjournal
