JAC Raises Fisheries Scam Concerns, Seeks Time-Bound Investigation The Joint Action Committee (JAC) on the Fisheries Scam on Friday held a press briefing highlighting alleged irregularities in Fisheries Department-related cases and urging the state government and investigating agencies to expedite action. During the briefing, JAC referred to FIRs registered in connection with alleged financial irregularities and questioned the delay in investigation, filing of charge sheets, and prosecution of those named in the cases. The committee expressed concern over alleged losses to the state exchequer and sought a fair, transparent, and time-bound probe. JAC also called for identification of beneficiaries, tracing of fund flows, recovery of misappropriated public money, and publication of an Action Taken Report (ATR) to ensure accountability and restore public confidence in the investigative process. The committee stated that it expects prompt action from the authorities and reiterated its demand for transparency and accountability in the handling of the alleged fisheries scam cases.
