Why I always scan for signal dropouts first

Whenever I fly FPV in a new location, I first scan the area for signal dropouts. Once I know where they are, I may fly the same route again while keeping those weak signal spots in mind. Not every location is risk-free for FPV flying, especially when flying over rivers or areas that are difficult to reach on foot.
