Persian Jazz for Tea Time; a 1-hour instrumental jazz fusion session inspired by tea in a Kamar Barik glass, rose porcelain, quiet reading, and the warmth of familiar rooms. “Tea Time.” Sometimes everything begins with a glass of tea; with its delicate curved shape, a floral teapot, the soft steam rising, and the kind of silence that slowly fills a home. This jazz album was shaped by moments like these; quiet, warm moments of pause, conversation, solitude, and reflection. In Iranian culture, tea is more than a drink; it is part of daily life, hospitality, memory, and emotional comfort. Several tracks in this album were also inspired by “Kamar Barik” (“Slender Waist”), a well-known Persian-language song also known as “Yar-e Mast-e Shahi.” Its lyrics come from a poem by Abolqasem Lahouti and belong to a broader Persian-speaking musical tradition rooted in Central Asia. With its simple, vivid, and deeply emotional imagery, the song has remained memorable across generations.
