New Tengah and Seletar MRT lines being studied, could be operational from 2040s
Singapore may see two more MRT lines from the 2040s, with feasibility studies already underway. The Seletar Line could serve areas such as Woodlands, Sembawang, Sengkang West, Serangoon North, Toa Payoh, Whampoa, Kallang and the Greater Southern Waterfront. Meanwhile, the Tengah Line could connect areas such as Tengah, Bukit Batok, Queensway and Bukit Merah. Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said such rail projects are long-term commitments that require political stability. Charlotte Lim reports.
