The Beetle's spare wheel seemed beyond saving, but in this video I show the entire process of restoring an original wheel that was severely damaged by rust. The most critical point was precisely the valve stem hole, completely destroyed by corrosion, making a simple cleaning or superficial repair impossible. To restore strength and preserve the originality of the part, I shaped a new steel plate, rebuilt the entire damaged area, and performed welding before starting the preparation for painting. After the repairs, the wheel received a polyester paint finish and, to ensure greater protection, shine, and durability, I finished with PU varnish.
