Gullveig - The Maiden Prophetess
In this video I shall speak about Gullveig-Heiðr and the meanings and functions of this entity of Old Norse mythology, as well as the process of death-initiation which seems to be implied in the three-fold sacrificial ceremony of her death and rebirth account. This video isn't solely about Gullveig-Heiðr. Please, pay close attention to the notes throughout the video, because the very study on Gullveig/Heiðr gives the opportunity to question the construction of Norse mythology itself and the interpretations and associations made since the 19th century. In this video I propose a new-challenge: to revise the entirety of the Norse myths. Hope you enjoy it. Have a great day! Bibliography by the end of the video.
