1970 Nova SS Drag Car

This is a 1,200+ horsepower, turn-key 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS drag car that has been properly built, properly tuned, and properly sorted so the next owner can focus on cutting lights and collecting win slips. Every major component was selected with reliability, consistency, and performance in mind, resulting in a race car that is both exceptionally capable and remarkably repeatable. If you know, you know. The car's best recorded pass is 4.72 seconds at 145 mph in the eighth-mile, with the flexibility to be dialed back for 5.30 index competition or turned up for no-prep and heads-up racing. Power comes from a forged 6.0-liter LS iron-block V8 featuring CNC-ported LS3 cylinder heads, Jesel shaft rockers, a custom camshaft, and a BorgWarner S476 SX-E billet turbocharger. Engine management is handled by a Haltech Elite 2500 ECU, which controls boost management, traction control, flex-fuel operation, data logging, bump staging, spool-up functions, and CO2-operated shifting. The fuel system is configured for real-time flex-fuel operation and can seamlessly accommodate E100, E85, race fuel, or 93 pump gasoline, allowing the car to be adapted to varying track conditions and racing classes. Power is transferred through a Vickers-built TH400 transmission with a pro brake and billet internals to a Strange fabricated 9-inch rear end with Pro Race axles and 4.56 gearing. The chassis is a 8.50-setup featuring a long-bar four-link rear suspension, adjustable anti-roll bar, QA1 double-adjustable coilovers at all four corners, manual rack-and-pinion steering, and lightweight fiberglass body components. Race weight is approximately 2,500 pounds. The car is currently configured with Weld forged wheels, Hoosier big-tire slicks, and wheelie bars for no-prep competition. It can also be adapted for 28x10.5 small-tire racing or Pro 275 radial competition. Additional features include a BTI touchscreen digital dash, integrated data acquisition, a Stroud parachute, Racecraft rear wing, and provisions for functional lighting suitable for Drag & Drive events. This Nova represents a thoroughly developed and professionally integrated turbo LS combination built around consistency, reliability, and repeatable performance. It is being offered as a complete, ready-to-race package that needs nothing beyond a driver, fuel, and a destination track. Set the power level. Stage it. Win rounds. Collect the cash. Repeat.
