BOY WHO DREW GOVERNOR GUYO, MUMINA BONAYA NOW NEEDS HELP TO SAVE HIS VISION

Social justice activist Salad Tadicha is appealing to political leaders, well-wishers and members of the public to come together and help save the eyesight of a 14-year-old boy from Milimani area in Bulapesa Ward, Isiolo County. Tadicha made the appeal while visiting the family, saying the teenager urgently requires specialized eye treatment estimated to cost more than KSh2 million. He particularly called on leaders whose portraits have been sketched by the talented boy, including Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo and Isiolo Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya, to support the fundraising effort and help save his vision. The boy's mother, Judy Gacheri, says her son's eye condition has persisted for a long time and is now affecting his other eye, placing his eyesight at serious risk. According to Gacheri, the family has exhausted its resources trying to secure treatment. The high cost of medication has made it impossible to continue the boy's treatment, forcing him to drop out of school as his condition worsens. She says the financial burden has also taken a heavy toll on her family's livelihood. She has been unable to pay rent for her home for the past two months, is three months behind on rent for her business premises, and continues to struggle with mounting debts. Despite the hardships, Gacheri remains hopeful that compassionate Kenyans will come forward and help give her son a chance to regain his sight, return to school, and continue nurturing his artistic talent.
