Cycling Toronto to Niagara Falls [160 km]

Gear: Giant Escape 2 DJI Action 4 DJI Neo Tips: Unless you're on a road bike, start early at 6-7am or do across 2 days, stopping at the Casablanca Hotel in Grimsby Terrain is well maintained and flat, except for a significant incline in the last 15 km The distance + wind can be mentally challenging Toronto Harbourfront, Hamilton beach, NOTL, and Clifton Hill are crowded with pedestrians The service road between Grimsby and St. Catharines is loud, long, runs next to the QEW and lacks rest spots, but has a good shoulder and is nice in the morning NOTL is the recommended, longer, and more scenic route, especially by the Niagara River/Gorge and vineyard country (160km) The direct route through St. Catharines + Thorold + West Niagara Falls is nice too. It's shorter (140km), has nice trails in St. Cath + Thorold, but you'll be on more busy roads in Niagara Falls City Try to arrive before sunset or book a hotel, because the bike racks on the GO bus back to Toronto can be occupied (2/bus max) and you could get stranded My favourite areas were Burlington, Hamilton Beach, Grimsby, Thorold, and NOTL vineyard country Check out Dunky's Beach Shack, Hutch's on the Beach, and Niagara Chicken!
