Today on The Joy of Editing with Dave Kelly, we’re taking a TK Friday Deep Dive into removing color casts in Photoshop. Color casts can show up in all kinds of images and can make a photo look too blue, too yellow, too green, or just slightly “off.” In this tutorial, we’ll look at several different ways to correct color casts using both TK9 tools and traditional Photoshop techniques. We’ll explore the TK color cast removal actions, the TK Color Grading Tool, the Average and Invert method, Curves with the Gray Point Eyedropper, and a new method that Tony Kuyper just came up with. There isn’t one single best method for every image. Some photos respond better to one technique than another, so the key is to experiment, compare the results, and choose the correction that looks the most natural to your eye.
