From its foundation in 1976 to its closure in 1997, the Kōdōkan was a place of transmission for both the original Matayoshi Kobudō and for the highest form of Okinawa Kobudō. After the death of Matayoshi Shinpō, we at the Yamashiro Komesu dōjō, with Ishiki Hidetada, continued training and pursuing the art, with the teachings received from Matayoshi sensei as our basis. This video is intended for the students of Komesu Yamashiro dōjō and for the related overseas students, in order to unify the kata.
