Sharrah Pool, The River Darts most beautiful wild swimming spot.

Sharrah Pool is a picturesque swimming spot located on the River Dart in Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England. It is known for its clear turquoise waters and stunning natural beauty, and is a popular destination for hikers, swimmers, and nature enthusiasts. The pool is situated in a deep gorge and is surrounded by steep cliffs, lush vegetation, and an abundance of wildlife, including kingfishers, otters, and various species of birds. The water is fed by a nearby waterfall and is generally quite cold, even in the summer months. Access to Sharrah Pool is via a hiking trail that winds through the forested area and along the riverbank. The trail is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) long and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to walk. The path is rocky and uneven in places, so it is recommended to wear sturdy hiking boots. Swimming in Sharrah Pool is a popular activity, but visitors should exercise caution as the water can be deep in places and there are strong currents. There are also several areas around the pool where visitors can relax and enjoy a picnic or just take in the stunning scenery. Overall, Sharrah Pool is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Dartmoor National Park and the River Dart. It is a peaceful and tranquil spot that offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its not a dedicated naturist spot but you are likely to see naked and semi naked men and women, if you are easily offended by this maybe arrive later in the day. On my two visits I have found the morning and late evening to be when the naked swimmers arrive and through the afternoon it's more family friendly. Great place for snorkelling, you’ll see perch, trout and fresh water eels aplenty in the crystal clear waters. No phone signal, fabulous! #sharrahpool #wildswimmingdartmoor #wildswimminguk
