Let's start with the design: it has a shape that in my opinion is very successful and attractive, but what matters most, it is also able to give it good aerodynamics. Looking at the Matryx in profile, you can appreciate a very clean and sharp shape in the nape area, like some racing helmets. The air intakes, which are characterized by a truly unique shape and activation, offer a good air flow: the one in the chin guard is less noticeable because the flow is channeled towards the visor while the upper one is very noticeable which, among other things, due to its position, is not covered when the visor is raised. We really like the design of the air intake in the chin guard, although if you use it with particularly thick gloves, it could cause an involuntary intervention on the visor mechanism. It's a matter of habit! Let's talk about the visor mechanism now. This helmet is equipped with a complex four-spring system that allows the visor to be operated with a tilting movement. Furthermore, the mechanism is silent, which makes it even more appreciable. The visor can be removed without the use of tools and the locking system is really refined, allowing for quick and easy opening. The sun visor lowers very well and offers excellent visibility, without creating discomfort or interfering with the nose. It is one of the few visors that do not make me regret the dark visor. The interior of this helmet is really well made, with particular attention to detail. Comfort rated ten. Furthermore, the cheek pads are removable and have a double density, ensuring adequate support and delicate contact with the skin. Great attention is paid to hidden details. For example, there is an "Airoh" writing on the inside of the chin guard, which can only be seen by removing the cheek pads: a real touch of class! There is also an emergency release system for the cheek pads, which works simply and safely. In addition, the new Matryx is designed for the installation of a communication system, with dedicated recesses for the battery, microphone and headphones. As the guys would say "topperia". The Matryx is available in two shell versions: one in 6K carbon and the other in composite fibers, both made in two sizes. The helmet is lightweight and offers an excellent balance between safety and comfort. The price? Airoh Matryx starts at €359.99 for the fiber version and €499.99 for the 6K carbon version.
