The incident, which occurred around 4:30 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time), is strongly suspected to have been triggered by illegal motorcycle racing and revving, which frequently disturbs residents in the area. During the exchange of fire, a Kawasaki KLX motorcycle, believed to belong to a motorcycle gang member, became the target of angry residents and was set on fire on the roadside. The location of the motorcycle's burning was right in front of a beauty salon at the intersection of Jalan Veteran Selatan and Jalan Rappocini Raya, where black ash and tire debris still remained on the asphalt. According to Subhan (32), a security guard near the location, the exchange of fire lasted briefly before dawn. By the time he returned to duty that morning, the burned vehicle had already been removed and secured by police from the scene.
