HYVE How to Play | Bits & Biology

Welcome to Bits & Biology, a channel about board games from the perspective of a biologist gamer. In this video I show you how to play HYVE, a worker placement roll & write game where you roll dice each turn that represent worker bees you will assign to various tasks to maintain and improve the hive. To win the game, you must either survive a full year, fill all six of your hives, or elevate your colony to "thriving" status. But be careful! Nature is not always kind - you will lose the game if your population ever drops below zero or if your colony reaches "colony collapse" status. At the end of the video I point out differences between the nine difficulty levels, and highlight some of the other available variants. Timestamps can be found below in case you want to skip around.
