Smith and Wesson 36-1 3” J frame. Finally got another one! The quest for the perfect grips part 1

Just discussing my newly acquired J frame in the 3” barrel. It is a round butt, and I prefer a square butt or at least longer grips to make it look more symmetrical, and feel better with finger grooves. I have acquired several grips over time, and I’m trying them out to see which I like best. I was surprised… Tried factory grips, Uncle Mikes boot grips off my 637, Pachmayr “the Gripper” grips, vintage Jay Scott wood round to square conversion grips, and Safariland combat grips. I was surprised the Safariland, which are hard plastic, look and feel the best to me for carry and will be ok for target shooting The grippers are best for target shooting because they are the biggest and softest. There are other options out there as well- hogue makes several that are awesome for target shooting, but too grips for concealed carry at 3 o clock, pachmayr makes other models like the compac grip and presentation grip, but I really like the safariland ones. I also want to try to get some from a model 60 which are a bit longer and curved more, but they’ve been going for upwards of $60 for grips… I don’t want to spend that much on used grips…
