While many heroes initially support his mission, Batman recognizes the danger of Superman’s growing authoritarian rule and forms the Insurgency to oppose him. The series chronicles the collapse of friendships, the division of the Justice League, and the first steps toward a global conflict that will reshape the world. It is widely regarded as one of DC’s most influential alternate-universe stories.
