Un jeu INTERDIT pour... MALTRAITANCE ANIMALE ?
For this retro look back, we're revisiting an unjustly forgotten game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos: Whiplash. In this game, the goal is to overthrow a multinational corporation, Genron, which bases its products on vivisection and other animal testing. A rather interesting concept that doesn't shy away from tackling its subject head-on. However, the game pushes its concept a bit too far. By playing as a weasel chained to a rabbit, the game's cartoonish style and dark humor don't appeal to everyone. Worse still, in England, the game nearly faced censorship and even a sales ban. So how did the game manage to cause such a stir among several organizations? Does the game still manage to get its message across? And most importantly, today, should we rehabilitate this game or leave it buried in the depths of Crystal Dynamics' catalog? #whiplash #retrogaming #crystaldynamics #ps2 #videogames Overlay and thumbnail by D-vi Art, thank you!
