Trouble with the 111

Optimus 111 Kerosene Stove Thank you for stopping by and watching this quick video of some troubleshooting of this beautiful stove. I've picked this stove up at a thrift store a few weeks ago, and it right off was burning perfectly. Well, maybe a little under the weather.But generally it fired right up, and. I tried to make coffee with this stove last weekend.When I was down at the columbia river, and it was given me lots of trouble. At first I thought, maybe it was the wind.But come to find out it was one or more of a few things. Changing the fuel, I think was inevitable upon inspection of the kerosene. It was very yellow.So I flushed the tank out and put fresh gas in there.I also noticed that the fuel cap was leaking. Lastly, there's a inner burner ring under the silent burner cap.That was laying in there at an angle.I'm pretty certain that that might be the reason why it wasn't working for the most part.But now it's running beautifully. The more I ran it after the video ended the better it got.I think a lot of this had to do with that old cloudy kerosene.So as soon as that old kerosene wicked out, she really took off and roared Thank you again for stopping by and hanging out for a bit.I really appreciate it and if you like vintage camp equipment and classic camp stoves, this is the place to be please consider hanging around.I'd love to have you.
