We compare different brands such as Golden Heavy Body, Golden Open, Amsterdam Expert, and ArA. We also look at very cheap acrylic paint and explain why they're not good enough. Acrylic paint dries quickly. That's why there are tools, also called mediums, that can help you slow down the drying time. For example, with a drying time delayer, slow drying medium, or an acrylic retarder. Mixing acrylic paint with water seems obvious, but it's not good for your painting. It's better to mix with medium. We show the difference between acrylic painting medium and mixing paint with water. Also important: choosing the right brushes. What's the difference between brushes? Why shouldn't you choose cheap brushes? We explain all that in this video about painting with acrylic paint. You can also thicken acrylic paint instead of thinning it. You do this with gel medium or extra heavy gel medium. This stiffens the paint and gives it more body. You can also add texture to your painting.
