This is not an auxiliary practice, but one of the key elements of Chaitanya's teachings, which Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu demonstrated by his personal example. Why do Vaishnavas worship Tulasi Devi? Service to Tulasi is the heart of the Vaishnava tradition. Lord Chaitanya emphasized that those who reverently serve Tulasi Devi inevitably receive the blessing of advancing deeper into Krishna consciousness. Tulasi is not a symbol or attribute. She is Vrindadevi, the divine ruler of Vrindavana, the guide without whom it is impossible to enter the atmosphere of pure bhakti. Devotees say, "Whoever serves Tulasi serves the energy of devotion itself." That is why, in the Chaitanya tradition, the worship of Tulasi Devi is always placed alongside service to Vaishnavas and the chanting of Hare Krishna. Vaishnava sources describe an episode from Jagannatha Puri. One day, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu saw a small Tulasi sprout. He took a clay pot, filled it with fertile soil, carefully transplanted the sprout, and instructed the devotees to always keep it nearby. This gesture was outwardly simple, but it became a declaration: "In the tradition of Chaitanya, Tulasi is the eternal companion and participant in spiritual life." All followers of Mahaprabhu, from His closest associates to modern Vaishnavas, continue this line of service. Anyone who has ever made a pilgrimage to Vrindavan or a pilgrimage to India knows: the atmosphere of Vrindavan is literally sustained by the mercy of Vrindavan. But Lord Chaitanya revealed something else: service to Tulasi makes Vrindavan accessible to everyone, wherever they live. Whether in Europe, Russia, or Kazakhstan, worship of Tulasi Devi creates the same spiritual atmosphere in the home as in the courtyards of the Vrindavan temples. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu didn't simply worship Tulasi—He showed her to be: 1) A teacher of devotion Through her, humility, patience, and mindfulness are developed—qualities necessary for serving Vaishnavas and chanting Hare Krishna. 2) The blessing energy of bhakti A Tulasi leaf offered to Krishna makes worship deeper and more personal. 3) The gateway to inner Vrindavan Vrindadevi is the one who prepares the devotee's heart for the encounter with Krishna. Therefore, Vaishnava philosophy says: "Service to Tulasi is the beginning of service to Krishna." Every Gaudiya Vaishnava knows that without respect for Tulasi Devi, the taste of bhakti cannot be revealed. Therefore, the Vrindadeviastakam is not just a reading, but an inner attunement to the mercy of Vrindadevi. This prayer is often recited before japa, before worshiping deities, and before serving Vaishnavas—as Lord Chaitanya himself defined the practice. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's teachings are practical and applicable even in the Age of Kali. And the worship of Tulasi Devi is one of the most effective paths to spiritual progress. By serving Tulasi, honoring Vaishnavas, and chanting Hare Krishna, one follows a direct line from Lord Chaitanya to modern spiritual teachers such as Mukunda Murari and the masters of the Bhakti School. This service transforms the home into a miniature Vrindavana, and the heart into a place suitable for the manifestation of bhakti. 📲 Join our Telegram channel https://t.me/shkola_bhakti ✅ We invite you to the Bhakti School https://bhakti.school/?utm_source=you...
