A Olda, de Águeda, surgiu em 1954 e rapidamente conquistou o papel de favorito nas corridas, não só devido à qualidade do projecto como ao excelente nível de condução de Joaquim Correia de Oliveira, piloto e técnico do veículo, e de Ângelo Costa, responsável pela preparação dos motores. Acabava de nascer uma nova marca nacional de automóveis exclusivamente vocacionada para a competição. A participação do Olda nas competições durou apenas três anos e decorreu entre as épocas de 54 e 56, destacando-se não só os bons resultados obtidos quer na Boavista quer no Monsanto, como também o excelente 2º lugar na classe de 1500, obtido no circuito internacional de Tanger.
