9th Avenue Railroad Crossing, Jasper, AL

originally recorded on 2-28-26 Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights. After catching 320 at Gamble Mine Road, I continued further into Jasper to try and get the train at another crossing. I was gonna go for 18th Avenue, but, as I couldn't beat them there, I decided to head back for this crossing since I hadn't recorded it in a while. Here we see NS 320 at the twelfth crossing I caught them at on this day. Admittedly, I kinda wish I'd gotten them at a different crossing, as it turned-out they had to stop and wait about half an hour for a train on the BNSF Birmingham Subdivision to clear the diamond in downtown Jasper. Not sure if it was a coal train that was having issues or just a slow-moving ballast train dumping fresh ballast, though I kinda suspect the former. Either way, a bit before sunset, they got rolling again and finally cleared this crossing. Nothing too major appears to have changed to this crossing since I last recorded it back in 2020. It appears the only notable changes here were the replacement of the far signal's gate arm with a newer vertical one, and the removal of the second track here (along with the 2 track signs on the signals as a result), in fact. https://www.rxrsignals.com/Alabama/G-...
