An Analysis of Disco Elysium's Protagonist

Disco Elysium is an astounding video game that has lived in my mind since the day I finished my first playthrough. It's also an incomparably dense video game, filled to the brim with discoveries, ideas, and personal explorations. No single video could contain everything I want to say about this game, nor would I even make the attempt. However, if asked to interpret the many narratives present in Disco Elysium, I think the best place to start is with the amnesiac disco detective. The sad, self-destructive alcoholic with a frayed mind, an immense soul, and basically nothing else. Who he was and who he can be is something players find along the way. Dance, baby, dance!
