Of course, to capitalize on the momentum of this PPV, Vince McMahon opens the show & lets everyone know that he doesn’t really feel like working tonight, and he is going to let all of the members of the Spirit Squad run the show. Yes, all of them. Kenny. Johnny. Mitch. Nicky. Mikey. All of them. Of course, that comes with a lot of “interesting” matches, including John Cena defending his WWE Championship against the 20 year old Kenny. Three of the members of the Spirit Squad also very fairly put themselves in a 6-man tag against “The Odd Squad” of Eugene, Snitsky, & Goldust. Of course, that’s not all the Spirit Squad does on this episode, as they decide to set their sights on the lead commentator of RAW at the time, Joey Styles. The Spirit Squad, during the live broadcast, tell Joey Styles to go backstage to have a meeting with them, where they dress him down for being bad at his job, and not having enough “spirit”. This, combined with Jerry Lawler poking his buttons, sets Joey Styles off, which leads to one of the most infamous ‘worked-shoot’ promos in the history of WWE, leading to some very memorable lines. We also have Chris Masters’ Masterlock Challenge, a Divas Cheerleader Tag Team Match involving Mickie James, Victoria, Maria, and Torrie Wilson, and the biggest match of the night; Rob Conway takes on KANE, who is being haunted by the mysterious ‘May 19th’ date.
