He began his career as an amateur, winning the Russian MMA Cup and the Cities of Military Glory Grand Prix in the 84 kg weight class in 2017. He also became the American LFA Middleweight Champion. Since 2022, Azamat Bekoev has been training at American Top Team in the United States. He made his UFC debut on January 18, 2025, at UFC 311, where he defeated Zachary Rees by knockout in the first round.
