DK Yoo Spat on the integrity of martial arts. He cheated repeatedly & we all lost.

My response to the DK Yoo vs Bradley Scott “special match” boxing event that happened on December 4, 2021. DK Yoo Cheated and got away with it He should have been DQ’d DK Yoo fans claim that DK used an “intelligent option to increase his survivability” by stalling, running away, showing timidity, disengaging from the action, avoiding the fight, holding, inactive clinching, ducking his head under the level of the knees, falling down. All of these are fouls that should have lead to warnings, loss of points, and disqualification. DK used Flagrant fouls: backfists (rounds 1 and 4) and a headbutt inside the clinch. Flagrant fouls that should have cost DK points since Brad was able to continue in spite of the fouls, and would have cost DK the fight entirely had Brad chosen not to continue. Instead, the referee chose to deduct points from Brad when DK Yoo tied up to stall the action. The ref and the judges were on DK Yoo’s payroll. The ref did not enforce the rules of boxing, but rather a secret “special” set of rules (ie: looking the other way). The judges pulled scores out of their butts and ruled the a split decision when Brad Scott clearly won every single round in dominant fashion. This was one of the most lopsided, one sided wins I have ever seen. This fight gave me PTSD flashbacks to the fixed fight debacle in China 13 years ago. How are South Korean combat sports over a decade behind the Chinese at this point in history? This boggles my mind. Story: Han and the fat promoter’s fake fight Story: what it was like dealing with fixed fights in China over a decade ago. The development of Wang Fei’s China Referee Union of Combat Sports. (Cleaning up the mess) Fixed fights set combat sports back to the Stone Age. They hurt the legitimacy of the sport. DK Yoo and his team have spat on the integrity of martial arts. They spat on the integrity of boxing. And they have spat on their own adoring sheepish fans who are too naive to the tell the difference between real and fake. ————- Ramsey Dewey is an MMA coach and fight commentator, and occasional musician based in Shanghai, China.
