Martyrs Day: Faithful mark 130 years since Uganda martyrs' deaths
Scores of people made their way to the Anglican Martyrs’ Shrine in Namugongo to join others who had arrived earlier in the week. Checking at the entrance was thorough. One of the key attractions was the new museum constructed at the site where 13 Anglicans met their death on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga. They are part of 55 men who were executed between 1885 and 1887 for converting to Christianity.
