Keep Your Eyes on the Prize: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Paul uses the analogy of an athlete training for and participating in the Olympic or Isthmian games to encourage the Corinthian believers to persevere in running the spiritual race set before them. The athletes in the games competed with one another for a crown that would quickly fade away. Believers in Christ do not compete with each other but rather encourage one another to remain steadfast in the Lord to finally receive the greatest reward, the Lord himself. This sermon on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 was preached by Pastor Philip Thomas at New Life Fellowship Church, Concord, NC, on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
